Ethel is not a name you hear much anymore. Unless you’re in the contemporary music world, where the string quartet called, yes, ETHEL, has been making its presence felt for 20 years now.  ETHEL champions new music, young composers, and musicians from underserved traditions, including several projects with Native American players and composers. This piece, "Tsoma," is a collaboration with the Native American flutist, singer, and instrument maker Robert Mirabal. ETHEL plays music by emerging composers: Sugar Vendil, Simon Brown, Sarah Goldfeather, Nailah Nombeko, Walter Smith, and Harrison Ponce on Wed., Dec. 18, at National Sawdust.
