Every Four Years in New Jersey, It's the Taxes, Stupid

A Democratic governor hasn't won re-election in New Jersey since 1977 despite the fact that the state has a million more Democrats than Republicans. Democratic governor Phil Murphy is leading in the polls and receives high marks from voters for his leadership through the COVID-19 pandemic. But there is one issue in New Jersey that tends to help Republicans win elections: Property taxes.
