Robert Henrey Looks Back on Starring in Carol Reed's 'The Fallen Idol' as a Child

Robert Henrey, a former child actor who starred in Carol Reed’s 1948 film “The Fallen Idol,” discusses a new restoration of the film showing at Film Forum. Graham Greene wrote the screenplay for the “The Fallen Idol,” one of Reed’s three Noir films made between “Odd Man Out” and “The Third Man.” Henrey starred as the young boy at the center of the story. 

Events: A new restoration of Carol Reed’s "The Fallen Idol" will run at Film Forum (209 West Houston Street) from Friday, May 27 through Thursday, June 2. Robert Henrey will appear in person for the 7 p.m. show on Friday. He will also be signing copies of his memoir, Through Grown-Up Eyes. 

“Carol Reed’s Noir Trilogy,” a sidebar featuring "The Fallen Idol," "Odd Man Out," and "The Third Man" will screen on Sunday, May 29. The sidebar “Two More by Graham Greene,” will include screenings of "Brighton Rock" and "Went the Day Well?" on Monday, May 30 and Tuesday, May 31.
