The Fight for Antitrust

On the Media | Sep 22, 2017

Faced with political pressure and negative press, Facebook has vowed to increase its transparency when it comes to political advertising. According to founder Mark Zuckberg, the decision is based on his and his company's sincere commitment to democratic values and democracy itself.

Others, including Matt Stoller from the Open Markets Institute, believe that if we really want to protect our democracy, we need to start by setting our sights on companies like Facebook, Amazon and Google and treating them like what they really are: monopolies. Stoller talks to Bob about how American attitudes towards monopoly and antitrust have shifted over the last few decades and why he thinks people are ready for action.
