In the mid 1970's, Garland Jeffreys had a hit with this song “Wild In The Streets,” which sounds like it could have been the greatest song the Rolling Stones didn’t write. Jeffreys is a keen observer and chronicler of New York life – the Brooklyn native, of mixed black and Puerto Rican ancestry, has used rock, soul, reggae and blues in a career that has spanned more than half a century. The veteran New Yorker Garland Jeffreys sends out the year with a New Year’s Eve show at Joe’s Pub tonight.
