Gary Lucas, Feifei Yang, and Jason Candler: The Edge of Heaven
at Joe's Pub, Feb. 20
Tickets: $20. Show at 7 pm.

Shanghai in the 1930s was often referred to as the Paris Of The East. The Chinese city was home to a thriving film industry, a sizable population of European ex-pats, and a pop music scene that has largely been forgotten. But guitarist Gary Lucas hasn’t forgotten these lost songs. His project "The Edge of Heaven" brings the sounds of 1930s Chinese pop back to life. The current edition of The Edge of Heaven project features vocals by FeiFei Yang, who also plays the erhu fiddle, Jason Candler on sax and percussion, and guitarist Gary Lucas. They play Wed. night, Feb. 20, at Joe’s Pub.
