Getting Naked with Cole Porter

New Standards | Nov 7, 2014

Ana Gasteyer wasn’t always a comedian, she began as a classically trained singer. Perhaps most known for her work on Saturday Night Live, Gasteyer has enjoyed a successful career on Broadway, staring in roles such as Elphaba from Wicked and Mrs. Peachum from Brecht’s The Threepenny Opera.

Now she's shifted her attention to her love of the American songbook. Thanks to the recent release of her debut album, I'm Hip, you can find her performing in clubs around the country telling jokes and singing standards. We took a listen to the album, and invited Gasteyer and the album's producer Julian Fleisher in to host their own show.

Tune in Friday at 11AM for an hour of music and conversation with Ana Gasteyer and Julian Fleisher. They'll play great records, they'll talk about their process of developing material for the album - and they'll tell a lot of jokes (think Bing Crosby and Bob Hope).
