Gig Alert: High Plains at Le Poisson Rouge
Tickets: $25, Doors at 9PM, 18+

The Canadian/American duo called High Plains consists of the electronic musician Scott Morgan (loscil) and the Madison, Wisconsin-based cellist Mark Bridges. Together, they make a mix of analog and digital, neoclassical and modern electronic music that has a rich, almost orchestral quality, inspired by the songs of Franz Schubert and by the sounds of film music. Their debut album, called Cinderland (Kranky), also includes field recordings from the remote town in Wyoming where they wrote and recorded the music. The duo High Plains delivers some deep listening tonight at Le Poisson Rouge, along with the "synthetic drift" of Anjou.
