The use of “dynamics” is one of music’s most powerful emotional cues: the difference between light and hard, soft and loud. And when your band has 15 members, the louds can get REALLY loud. That’s how many people crowd on the stage for the band Jesus on the Mainline – and, predictably, they make a wonderfully raucous, gospel-tinged noise. Here’s “Sweet High and Dry” from their self titled 2014 record:
