ARTIST: Lee "Scratch" Perry
LISTEN:
SHOW: Tuesday night at Keepin Style Alive in Bushwick / Wednesday night at Brooklyn Bowl
Lee “Scratch” Perry is probably most famous as one of Bob Marley’s early producers, and as one of the creators of the cut-and-paste stepchild of reggae known as dub music. At age 78, he’s still a prolific recording artist – as evidenced by his latest record, called “Back On The Controls.” Here’s “Blackboard Re-vision.”
Lee Scratch Perry is also a visual artist – tonight is his NYC art show debut. It’s at the Keeping Style Alive gallery in Bushwick tonight. Perry also plays at Brooklyn Bowl on Wednesday night.
