Gig Alert: New York Philharmonic

Music Hub | Feb 5, 2015

If you’re a fan of the award-winning 2014 film Birdman starring Michael Keaton, you’ll recognize this music pretty quickly. Director Alejandro González Iñárritu included parts of this symphony by Rachmaninoff in several key sequences of the film, and in some of the promotional trailers.

The New York Philharmonic is playing Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No 2 in E Minor at Avery Fisher Hall, through Saturday.
