The classical music world once considered Philip Glass to be the barbarian at the gate. Now he is one of the most popular composers on the planet.  His new piano concerto, his third, was written for the star pianist Simone Dinnerstein, and will get its first performance here in town tonight at the Miller Theatre, in a program that will also include this piece, Glass’s Symphony #3. Boston-based chamber orchestra A Far Cry joins pianist Simone Dinnerstein for this New York premiere of Glass’s Piano Concerto No. 3, written for them, and a program including Glass's Symphony #3, and works by J.S. Bach.
