Tonight one of New York's great live bands hits one of New York's great outdoor venues: Brooklyn's Red Baraat whips audiences into a frenzy with its unique mix of brass band and ratatat Indian percussion, and they're curating a huge lineup of South Asian artists for one pulsing, pounding evening at the Prospect Park Bandshell. Bhangra pioneer DJ Rekha, rock guitarist Bhi Bhiman, dark and ethereal Shilpa Ray, Queens rapper Heems, electronic maestro Karsh Kale, and others will share the stage. And: it's free.
