Gig Alert: Roy Hargrove at the Blue Note
Tickets: $30-45, sets at 8 & 10:30PM

Trumpeter Roy Hargrove is one of the leading jazz musicians of his generation. But his generation also grew up with the sounds of funk and hip hop, so you can find Hargrove’s signature trumpet sounds of records by D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, and Common in addition to his work with jazz legends like Sonny Rollins or Oscar Peterson. Hargrove has several bands, but it’s his quintet that’s swinging through town this time, doing two sets tonight at the Blue Note.
