PERFORMANCE: Patterns of Plants, at The Noguchi Museum through Sunday

Plenty of artists and musicians have drawn inspiration from the natural world throughout the centuries. But composer Mamoru Fujieda actually made music out of nature – he measured the tiny electronic pulses created by various plants, and then used the data to create musical notation. The result is called, naturally, “Patterns of Plants.” Here it is interpreted for solo piano by Sarah Cahill:
