Gig Alert: The Selecter at Knitting Factory
Tickets: $35, Show at 8PM.

The Selecter was one of the bands that helped start the so-called 2Tone movement in England in the late 70s. That mix of ska and punk continues to this day, and so, in fact, does the Selecter. Still led by their inimitable frontwoman, Pauline Black, the band continues to make danceable music that tackles issues like sexism and racism. They have a new album called Daylight coming out in October, and play tonight at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. Here’s an old favorite from the band called "On My Radio."
