Ever since their inclusion on the soundtrack to the film Garden State, the Shins have been indie rock royalty.  But they haven’t been very active lately. So fans were cheered by Thursday’s release of a new song, and the announcement of a new Shins album, due on March 10.  The new single, “Name For You,” was written by front-man James Mercer for his three daughters, as a call for Girl Power. And if the chorus reminds you of the Beatles, well, that’s no bad thing either. The single is part of our weekly music roundup.
