Golden Hornet's The Sound of Science featuring Jeffrey Zeigler
at National Sawdust
, Sat., Nov. 10
Tickets: $29. Show at 7 pm.

Golden Hornet describes itself as a composer laboratory, based in Austin, TX. For their new project called "The Sound of Science", they asked seven composers to write music based on the work of scientists in seven different fields, from climatology to neuroscience. One of those composers is Sarah Lipstate. Normally, Sarah makes sweeping, cinematic works for her own electric guitar and looping devices, but here, she’s written a piece for cello and electronics, played by Jeffrey Zeigler. The piece, called "Radiation in Moderation", was inspired by the work of Marie Curie.

Cellist Jeffrey Zeigler performs eight brand-new pieces of music by seven international composers written for amplified cello and electronics, including the work by Sarah Lipstate as part of the Sound of Science project on Saturday night, Nov. 10, at National Sawdust.
