Broadway by the Year Series: The Broadway Musicals of 1941-1965 @ Town Hall (New York, NY) Town Hall continues the 15th annual Broadway by the Year series. This Monday, March 30th will feature the Broadway Musicals of 1941-1965. Some may argue this period to be the “golden age” of Broadway and why blame them? This is when Rodgers and Hart, and subsequently Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, Loesser, Arlen, Harburg, Bernstein, Berlin, Porter and Sondheim were all writing! Great Performances – Annie Lennox: Nostalgia Live in Concert @ A Television set Near You (U.S.A.) Scottish singer-songwriter, Annie Lennox released an American Songbook album, Nostalgia, in September 2014. It was featured on the Jonathan Channel as album of the week over the new year. Portrait of a Lady: Billie Holiday at 100 @ Zeb’s (New York, NY) Mark your calendars for this coming Monday, April 6th for a night of Lady Day. Classical pianist, Lara Downes and writer and music critic, Will Friedwald, remember Billie Holiday through music and history on the eve of what would have been her 100th birthday. In addition, Friedwald will be sharing Billie’s story in a unique music video presentation called LADY DAY @100.
