Peter Andreas, the John Hay Professor of International Studies at Brown University, joins us to discuss his book, Rebel Mother: My Childhood Chasing the Revolution. Andreas tells the story of his mother, Carol Andreas, who transformed from a 1950s housewife from a small Mennonite town in central Kansas to a radical feminist and Marxist revolutionary. Andreas traveled with his mother across the world as she joined different movements. Andreas' mother even kidnapped him at one point and took him to South America after his father won custody.
Peter Andreas will appear in conversation with Elizabeth Reis at CUNY's Macaulay Honors College (35 West 67th St., between Central Park West and Columbus Ave.) at 7 p.m. on April 26.
