Guy Branum Finds His Voice in New Memoir

Midday on WNYC | Jul 30, 2018

Guy Branum discusses his new book, My Life as a Goddess: A Memoir through (Un)Popular Culture. Branum always felt as if he were on the outside looking in, especially being gay and overweight. While other boys played outside, he stayed indoors reading Greek mythology. In this collection of personal essays, Branum talks about finding his way out of the darkness of his insular upbringing and finding himself as a stand-up comedian and tv show writer.

On August 1 Guy Branum will be in-conversation with Phoebe Robinson at 7 pm at The Strand Bookstore (828 Broadway, New York, NY 10003). This event is free and open to the public.

On August 2 Guy Branum will be performing at Union Hall at 7:30 pm; doors open at 7 pm (702 Union Street, Brooklyn NY 11215).

This segment is guest hosted by Duarte Geraldino.
