Live gigs continue their cautious return in New York, as the Brooklyn club Barbès continues its Dirty Dozen series – intimate live shows for an audience of twelve. On Wed., April 28, it’s with Brooklyn-based guitarist, composer, and collaborator Gyan Riley. If you saw the Ken Burns documentary Hemingway, you’ve heard Gyan’s guitar music; he’s also played with his father, the minimalist legend Terry Riley. Back in June 2020, early on in the pandemic, Gyan had put out a record called Shelter In Space. Gyan Riley does a solo set tonight at Barbès for a very small live audience, and it’ll be streaming as well.
