The President of Hampshire College Wants to Lead By Example

The Brian Lehrer Show | Dec 8, 2015

Jonathan Lash, president of Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, believes students learn not only from what the college teaches but also from what the college does.

Lash, who formerly worked for a Washington-based environmental think tank, talks about his efforts to combat climate change by using solar energy on campus.

He also discusses Hampshire's policy of not using standardized tests as admissions criteria, abandoning the traditional grading system, and its commitment to college affordability.
