The Headliner: Ann Hampton Callaway

This week, we're spotlighting the new release from vocalist and songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway. "From Sassy to Divine: The Sarah Vaughan Project" is a tribute to the legendary Sarah Vaughan and was recorded live at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola in New York City. 

According to Stephen Holden of The New York Times "the essence of Ms. Callaway’s artistry is a strong, beautiful sound bolstered by an unabashedly romantic sensibility and an increasingly disciplined interpretive stance that avoids emotional showboating." In this latest release, Callaway's carefully crafted vocal technique is on full display in her thoughtful reinterpretation of the music of The Divine One.
