House of Time Plays 'Angels and Demons' at Hudson View Gardens

The Italian composer Giuseppe Tartini wrote his most famous piece in 1713, after the devil appeared at the foot of his bed and played it for him. At least, that’s the story Tartini told about his Violin Sonata in G Minor, commonly known as "The Devil’s Trill." It’s still a fiendishly difficult piece to play, and not the only piece of music from the Baroque era that has a demonic or an angelic backstory.
The early music group House Of Time plays it as part of a show called 'Angels and Demons,' with a Vivaldi piece about a soul dragged to hell and a Biber work that depicts a guardian angel. They’re at Hudson View Gardens tonight and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church tomorrow.
