Last week, an essay in The Cut by Charlotte Cowles went viral after Cowles described how she was scammed out of $50,000. Readers online seemed confident they wouldn’t fall for such a scheme, but experts caution that you shouldn’t be so sure. Amy Nofziger, director of Victim Support for the AARP Fraud Watch Network, and Rachel Tobac, co-founder and CEO of SocialProof Security, join us to discuss how to identify a scam and how to protect yourself.
