Ibibio Sound Machine at White Eagle Hall
Oct. 21. 8PM. $29.95

Afrofuturism and electronic dance music come together in the songs of Ibibio Sound Machine, a London band fronted by Nigerian-born singer Eno Williams. She sings largely in English, but occasionally in Igbo; and the band is fluent in several musical languages, drawing on everything from West African pop to disco. Ibibio Sound Machine’s latest album, done with UK electronic group Hot Chip, doubles down on the dance grooves, as in this song called “All That You Want.”  Ibibio Sound Machine plays Friday, Oct. 21, at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City.
