ÌFÉ (NYC debut) at BRIC House, with M.A.K.U SoundSystem
Tickets: $15-20. Doors at 7PM, Show at 8PM.

ÌFÉ is the name of the project founded by vocalist and percussionist Otura Mon. Otura is a priest in the Ifá tradition that originated with the Yoruba people of Nigeria, and is also known as the Puerto Rico-based, African American drummer/producer/singer Mark Underwood. The band, ÌFÉ, draws on traditional Yoruba chant and drumming but also uses contemporary sounds borrowed from hip hop, reggaeton, and electronic music for "a powerful synthesis of electronic sound and Afro-Caribbean language." Tonight at BRIC House in Brooklyn, will be the band ÌFÉ's first-ever public performance in New York City.
