For decades, the U.S. has struggled to create an effective policy towards China. From trade wars to technology to Taiwan, experts disagree on whether the current administration is doing the right thing when it comes to China. And these decisions could have big consequences.

Are recent U.S. policies tough and focused enough to achieve key economic and strategic objectives? Or will U.S. policy escalate tensions too much, ultimately reducing the chances that the world’s two major powers can achieve a sensible accommodation?

Debaters include Michael Pillsbury, Senior Fellow & Director for Chinese Strategy at Hudson Institute; Kori Schake, Deputy Director-General at the International Institute for Strategic Studies; Graham Allison, Douglas Dillon Professor of Government at Harvard Kennedy School; Jake Sullivan, Former National Security Adviser to Vice President Joe Biden.
