Midday on WNYC | Jan 24, 2018

Filmmakers Kristi Jacobson and Erin Lee Carr talk about Dirty Money, the six-part investigative documentary series for Netflix. The series, directed by Alex Gibney, provides an up-close and personal view into stories of scandal and corruption in the world of business, using first-hand accounts from perpetrators and their victims, combined with rarely-seen video footage. Kristi Jacobson's film, Cartel Bank, looks at how HSBC, one of the world’s largest banks, laundered hundreds of millions of dollars for Mexican drug cartels. Erin Lee Carr's film, Drug Short, looks at how Big Pharma gouges patients in need of life-saving drugs. Dirty Money is streaming on Netflix.

This segment is guest hosted by Arun Venugopal.
