English composer Jocelyn Pook is best known for her music in the soundtrack of Stanley Kubrick’s last film, Eyes Wide Shut. But she’s done a lot of music for theater and dance as well, including a score for the award-winning choreographer Akram Khan. In his piece, called Jungle Book Reimaged, Mowgli is now a girl, and a refugee, who’s rescued by a group of animals who are themselves refugees from laboratories and zoos. Jungle Book, Reimagined by Akram Khan with the original score by Jocelyn Pook runs at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater Nov. 16-18.
