Trumpeter Keyon Harrold knows how music can be almost magical. He called 2018 solo album The Mugician, and although it’s rooted in jazz, Harrold includes elements of electronic music, hip hop, and Jamaican dub as well. And although film goers saw Don Cheadle on screen playing Miles Davis in the 2015 movie Miles Ahead, it was Harrold’s trumpet that they heard. Keyon Harrold plays at the Blue Note Monday, Jan. 30 through Wednesday, Feb. 1.
