This Is The Kit – Started Again (Weekly Music Roundup)

British singer and guitarist Kate Stables records under the name This Is The Kit. Her early albums were clearly rooted in the long British folk/rock tradition, but her new record has a different sound; yes, she’s still playing acoustic guitar and banjo, but tracks like this one, called “Started Again,” might show the influence of indie rock bands like The National, with whom Stables has toured in recent years. Here, the steady throb of electric guitar and drums is offset by a kaleidoscopic layering of Stables’ voice and horns. That’s "Started Again," from the artist known as This Is The Kit is part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
