Laura Marling Goes Electric

Spinning on Air | Apr 3, 2015

British songwriter Laura Marling's fifth album has just been released, and it brings her back to Spinning On Air for the fifth time. Laura was just 17 when she first performed on the program in 2008, and even at that age she demonstrated unusual maturity as a songwriter and singer. Her new album, "Short Movie," reflects her recent time living in Los Angeles, during which she recorded and scrapped an album, and put aside music and the musician's life for a while. Laura talks with David Garland about solitude, empathy, love and anxiety, and sings songs about those topics and more with her new band.
