Hearing from the Lawyers Defending Guantánamo Detainees

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jun 21, 2016

Jonathan Hafetz, Associate Professor at Seton Hall Law School, Wells Dixon, Senior Staff Attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights and Martha Rayner, Clinical Associate Professor of Law at Fordham University, give voice to the lawyers who serve the detainees at Guantánamo in their book Obama's Guantánamo: Stories from an Enduring Prison. Their accounts reveal how our government and the judicial system have failed the individuals being held there, and continue to violate human rights.

Event: There will be a book launch on Wednesday, June 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at NYU's King Juan Carlos Center (53 Washington Square South). Jonathan, Wells, Martha and Omar Farah will be in conversation. The event is open to the public.
