Lionel Loueke at Carnegie Hall Zankel Hall

Lionel Loueke at Carnegie Hall Zankel Hall, Dec. 13
Tickets: $29-39. Show at 9PM.

The guitarist Lionel Loueke is from the West African nation of Benin, and while he’s become one of the most famous guitarists in the world of jazz, he never strays too far from his African roots.  Loueke has played with jazz stars like Esperanza Spalding and Cassandra Wilson; he’s played with Santana (so have many); but he’s also collaborated memorably with singer Angelique Kidjo, also originally from Benin. She is presenting Loueke’s band as part of a concert series she’s curating at Carnegie hall. Lionel Loueke and his band play at Carnegie Hall Zankel Hall, on Friday, Dec. 13.
