The American born singer, violinist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Abraham Brody, a National Sawdust artist-in-residence this season, infuses his works with the folklore and music of his Lithuanian roots. Brody has been largely based in Vilnius, the Lithuanian capital, where he’s been creating haunting arrangements of old Baltic folk songs, using his acoustic instruments and live looping technology. He visited our WNYC studio to play some music from his album called From The Rich Dark Earth, and some new songs, solo and with his Moscow-based group called Pletai.
