Listen to a Long Interview With Edward Snowden

The Brian Lehrer Show | Mar 17, 2016

From the buzz in the room, you'd think it was a sporting event, or a homecoming party for a war hero.

But the crowd in Brooklyn was going wild for a live video link of Edward Snowden.

WNYC's Brian Lehrer interviewed Snowden along with Laura Poitras, an artist, journalist and director of the Academy Award-winning film Citizenfour, recorded as part of RadioLoveFest, produced by WNYC and BAM on March 11.

"There aren't many people in the world right about whom you could find a wider variety of opinions than Edward Snowden," said Brian, by way of introduction. He led Snowden and Poitras through 90 minutes of conversation about what a fair trial means in Snowden’s view, the role of journalists and journalism in America, Apple and the FBI, presidential politics, Hillary Clinton’s emails, his disillusionment with the military, and much more.
