Long Play Festival 2024: Bang on a Can plays Ryuichi Sakamoto at Roulette

This weekend, the Long Play festival takes over venues around Brooklyn with three days of all kinds of contemporary music. On May 3, the Bang On A Can All-Stars pay tribute the late Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. Sakamoto’s album called 1996 saw him arrange some of his best known music, including his award-winning film scores, for a piano trio. The Bang On A Can All-Stars present those pieces for their own hybrid chamber-rock instrumentation on May 3 at Roulette. It’s a New Sounds Live co-presentation.
