Lou Barlow: Bracing For Change

Lou Barlow describes his upcoming album Brace The Wave as an "acoustic electric record, recorded with electricity on analog digital and digitally analog equipment." In short - this album will be sparse, without drums and "without regrets." Barlow has long been gloriously sardonic, going all the way back to his first songwriting attempt in 1983 called “Lou’s Anxiety Song." But he has also been prolific and hugely influential, both as an occasional solo artist but especially through his bands: the early Deep Wound, the important alt-rock band Sebadoh, the cheeky Folk Implosion, and of course, the acclaimed indie band Dinosaur Jr. This latest album comes hard on the heels of Dinosaur Jr.'s current tour, and is Barlow's first solo record since 2009.
