The Dutch composer Louis Andriessen has been a hugely influential figure on a number of younger composer internationally. Andriessen has close ties to NY as well – he taught New York composers Julia Wolfe and Missy Mazzoli, and caused a stir when his De Materie was staged here two years ago at the Park Avenue Armory with a flock of live sheep. Now, he’s part of the NY Philharmonic’s new series of small, intimate late-night concerts that they’re calling Nightcap.

Louis Andriessen curates the NY Philharmonic’s next Nightcap concert tomorrow night, Sat., Oct. 13, at Lincoln Center’s Kaplan Penthouse, with host Nadia Sirota and the Ariel Quartet.
