James Galbraith, professor of Government at University of Texas at Austin, and author of The End of Normal: The Great Crisis and the Future of Growth (Simon & Schuster, 2014)  argues that the "Great Crisis" of 2008 didn't interrupt a normal economic growth pattern -- that ended in the 1970s -- but that there are policies that would help cope with the new normal of instability.
