Lucinda Chua and Kelly Moran (DJ set) at Public Records
Feb. 13, 7PM. $25.75

Cellist, singer, and electronic musician Lucinda Chua was born in London but her family roots are in Malaysia and, before that, China. She likens her own journey to that of the rose, a flower native to China that made its way to England in the 1700s. Most of her songs are in English, but some have Mandarin lyrics as well. Chua’s music tends to be ethereal, nocturnal, and in the case of her 2021 album, Antidotes, offering a respite from the frantic pace of modern life. Lucinda Chua plays Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Public Records in Brooklyn; there's a DJ set by pianist, composer, and producer Kelly Moran as well.
