Marjorie Liu’s “Monstress” Pushes the Boundaries

In “Monstress,” a comic series written by Marjorie Liu, a young female warrior living in an alternate Asia finds herself possessed by an ancient and possibly malevolent spirit. Liu spoke with The New Yorker’s editorial director, Henry Finder, about the growing acceptance of comic books in the mainstream and the enduring sexism in her industry.
