Martha Redbone Roots Project at Bryant Park
Aug. 31, 7PM. FREE.

The Martha Redbone Roots Project is aptly named. Their music draws on singer Martha Redbone’s Native and African American roots, and the band plays an appealing mix of folk, blues, and gospel. But Redbone often takes those traditional sounds in unexpected directions. Her song called “A Dream,” is  part of a whole set of 18th century poems by the Englishman William Blake that Redbone set to Appalachian-inspired music. The Martha Redbone Roots Project plays a free show on Aug. 31 at Bryant Park.
