Lots of news about inflation these days, but I’m declaring the next three nights an inflation-free zone. Because it’s our annual series of silent films with live music at Brookfield Place, and they’re all free. The series begins tonight with a contemporary silent film, called Electric Appalachia, a surprising, and surprisingly poignant look at how the forces of electricity and modernity changed a part of our country in the last century. The film was created with two musicians in mind – guitarist William Tyler, and harpist, Mary Lattimore. They play their live soundtrack to Electric Appalachia at Brookfield Place as the first of our three night Silent Film/Live Music series and it’s free. (So is the popcorn, while supplies last.)
