The Media's Gun Blindspot

This week saw a new and impassioned push for gun control legislation by Democratic lawmakers. But for all of their efforts, the outcome seems destined to be the same, due in part to the enduring division between those who support stricter gun control and those who balk at the thought. How do you ever bridge such a gap? For starters, it helps if the sides actually try to understand each other.

Brooke talks to Slate's Rachael Larimore about the media's ignorance when it comes to guns and gun culture and how a basic lack of understanding can stop a conversation before it begins.
