In May, Matt Marks, a composer, singer, actor, and musician, died of heart failure. He was 38. Marks was a major figure in a younger generation of composers who were classically trained and used the forms of classical music – like operas, chamber music, and orchestral works – but filled those forms with content that sounded like pop music. 

Tonight a memorial concert of Marks’ music will be held at Roulette in Brooklyn featuring performances by Alarm Will Sound, Hotel Elefant, Andie Tanning Springer, Kathleen Supove, Yuki Numata Resnick, Ted Hearne, and a horn choir consisting of Matt's friends and teachers.
