Way before Michael McDonald was Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Award–winning musician with The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, and as a solo artist, he was a high school dropout from Ferguson, Missouri who moved to California to pursue his dream. Now, McDonald has written a new memoir,What a Fool Believes, and he speaks to us about the book, his life, his music, and his struggles with addiction.
