The Greek Coastguards Who Save Migrant Lives in Lesbos

Filmmaker Daphne Matziaraki joins us to discuss her new documentary “4.1 Miles,” premiering on POV on June 26 at 9 p.m. on PBS. The film follows local coast guard officers stationed off the Greek island of Lesbos, overwhelmed by the thousands of migrants who have braved the Mediterranean to flee war and violence at home. The film was nominated for a 2017 Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject.

"4.1 Miles" airs tonight on POV with the feature film "Dalya's Other Country," kicking off the 30th season of the POV documentary series on PBS.
